Sky Lounge Services Reaffirms Full Contractual Commitment to President René Mouawad – Qlayaat Airport Project

Sky Lounge Services has issued a clear statement confirming its complete adherence to all contractual obligations with the Lebanese state concerning the works and equipment at President René Mouawad – Qlayaat Airport. The company, acting as the project investor, emphasized that its commitments are being translated into substantial on-the-ground investments and tangible progress.

Addressing Media Reports on Additional Works

In response to recent media coverage regarding supplementary works and equipment at the northern Lebanese airport, Sky Lounge Services clarified its position. The company stressed that it remains fully dedicated to executing every obligation outlined in the signed contract with the Lebanese government. This includes major investments such as the construction of an entirely new passenger terminal from the ground up built larger than the original plans along with comprehensive rehabilitation of the airport, upgrades to its infrastructure, and the installation of advanced operational, technical, and security systems, all in accordance with the contractual terms.

The company was careful to distinguish between its responsibilities and any additional initiatives. Any tenders or extra works that official authorities decide to implement outside the scope of the existing contract fall beyond Sky Lounge Services’ contractual duties. The firm has no involvement in decisions related to the awarding, financing, or execution of such external projects.

Strong Support for Official Efforts to Complete Airport Readiness

Sky Lounge Services expressed full support for the efforts led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, and other relevant official bodies. The company underlined that all ongoing work shares a common objective: completing the readiness of Qlayaat Airport and accelerating its operational launch in line with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

The investor reaffirmed its determination to continue implementing the project in close cooperation with Lebanese authorities. The ultimate goal is to transform Qlayaat Airport into a vital facility and a new economic gateway that will benefit the Lebanese state, the Akkar region, northern Lebanon, and the country as a whole.

Target Operational Date: November 15. 2026.

Sky Lounge Services concluded its statement by reiterating its firm commitment to finishing all works and equipment that fall under its contractual responsibilities. The company aims to have these elements ready for operation by November 15. 2026.

This development comes at a time when Lebanon seeks to enhance its aviation infrastructure and open new economic opportunities in the northern regions. By delivering a modern, larger passenger terminal and upgraded systems at Qlayaat Airport, the project is positioned to support regional connectivity and economic growth.

Sky Lounge Services’ public reaffirmation of its contractual obligations and its support for official readiness efforts highlight the collaborative approach driving the Qlayaat Airport initiative forward. As work continues, attention remains focused on meeting the November 15 operational target while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and contractual integrity.
